Do you trust the products you slather all over your face, hair and body enough to take a bite out of them?
the link here? the dikdik is eating…and its really cute. Good enough for me!
‘Cause I totally would. Ok, not all my products. I have to admit that there are a few things that are less than clean still in rotation at my house. Stuff I don’t use on a daily basis, such as most of my makeup. I’m not eating my mascara anytime soon. No sireeee. And yet I still jab myself in the eye with it almost everytime I put it on. I realize this is just a tad ironic.
However, the stuff I use all the time and on most of my body, such as my Terr’ma Butter, Juicy Scrub, my oatmeal and clay wash, lip balms, facial mists and Creamy Elixir (I use it on my body), I’d totally eat. I’d even eat my Nature’s Gate conditioner, and Dr. Bronner’s soaps (which I use on my hair, too). I’m even going to post a video to prove it!! (Stay tuned for that…I’m super camera shy.)
Does this sound like total lunacy to you? It probably does, but it really shouldn’t. I’m not talking about downing all 473 ml of a product. Just a taste, a little mouthful. Would you trust your products not to poison you? If you don’t, then I hate to break it to you, but what do you think you’re doing by putting it all over your body?
Think of your skin as a big, pretty sponge. It sops up everything you put on it, and yes, some of it does end up in the darndest of places, such as the liver, and common chemicals found in personal care products are also found in tumors… both in lab rats and in human samples. Your skin is an organ, in case you missed that class back in the third grade. A big fricken organ. So you best be showing it some respect!
