Enzymes

My favorited way to exfoliate? ENZYMES! The enzymes we use (in Eclipse) are sugar/fruit enzymes from bilberry, sugar maple and other sweet snacks. They're delightfully weird because they are amino acids that get to work on your skin's surface in a particular, peculiar way: they super gently exfoliate the skin by eating away dead protein (🤢 but also 😍) which results in smoother, softer skin.

This also helps those of us with hyper-pigmentation issues, gently helping to fade those pesky post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks (don't skin-pick, kids!) Enzymes are a much gentler way to exfoliate than acids (or scrubby mechanical exfoliation, OUCH my teenage face) and Eclipse can safely be used once or twice a day, as a rinse-off product, by most people.

If you want a little extra exfoliation, I suggest using Eclipse as a mask. Simple apply to a (maybe, YOUR) dry, clean skin and let it sit for 10- 15 minutes before rinsing off. Eclipse is pH balance at around 5.5 and doesn't disrupt your skin's barrier. It's also buffered with soothing ingredients like panthenol, aloe and allantoin.
